Divi vs Elementor 2021: Overview

Let’s dive deeper into Divi vs Elementor comparison to see which one performs better.

Divi

Divi is one of the popular WordPress theme as well as a high-quality web page builder developed by Elegant Themes. It was made 12 years ago in the USA and has now grown into a proficient web page building tool.

Divi Overview- Divi vs Elementor

Divi is renowned for its extensive features and excellent visual editor. This is a paid web page builder plugin that also comes with a free trial version.

Elementor

Even though it was introduced quite recently in 2016, Elementor has rapidly conquered the web page builder user base. It is an Israeli software company that allows WordPress users to edit their websites with the utmost ease.

Elementor vs Divi- Overview

With over 5 million active downloads and counting, it wins the popularity contest by a country mile. It is also absolutely free to download and use, which explains its huge popularity. There is also a paid version named Elementor Pro that comes with beefed-up features compared to the free one.

Divi vs Elementor: Ease-of-use

Divi was made for those who wanted to build stunning websites without the need for coding. Div has that drag & drop option that web designers just love. Lately, it has shifted more towards the stunning aspect by providing an almost limitless number of features and templates. However, this has compromised its user-friendliness somewhat and made it slightly more convoluted. You will have to take some time and get to know its features better before commencing the web page designing.

Elementor also has a drag and drop interface which makes it a joy to use. Like Divi, Elementor also requires no coding and can be used by an absolute beginner to create beautiful web pages. It comes with right-click options and keyboard shortcuts that make it massively user-friendly and increases accessibility.

Verdict: Elementor wins this round by being much more simple and user-friendly than Divi

Divi vs Elementor: Key Features & Benefits

Drag & drop editor

Drag & drop option will let you build a website easily as the name suggests. It is the fastest way to customize a website without the need for back-end coding.

Elementor has a toolbar on the left side of the screen from which contains a multitude of templates and designs. You can drag & drop any option as you please to customize your web page.

Divi contains hovering buttons that will expand into a sidebar with a single click. You can select the required designs and drag them onto the main panel. There is also an option to resize this window and move it around wherever you want.

Designer Templates

The designer made templates simplify the process of building a website since they are pre-made and ready to use. These templates can be further customized to suit your style of the brand.

Divi offers 800+ pre-made designs and 100+ full website packs with new layouts being added every week. These full website layout packs offer several different templates in a particular niche for various pages like:

Divi Templates

  • Home
  • Support
  • Blog
  • Contact

Elementor boasts of a comprehensive selection of over 300+ designer-made templates for a variety of niches. But they are all single-page templates and they can’t match the full website pack that Divi has to offer.

However, they have started to launch full website packs and could match Divi in years to come.

Elementor vs Divi- Templates

Widgets

Widgets are stand-alone user interfaces that will increase the aesthetic appeal and provide functionality to your website.

Elementor

Elementor offers over 90+ widgets that range from basic elements to advanced widgets that are available only on the Pro version. You also have the option to add third-party widgets or even build your own if need be.

Given below are a few of the built-in widgets available to choose from in Elementor:

Elementer Widgets

  • Icon box
  • Sound cloud
  • Counter
  • Accordion
  • Menu anchor
  • Countdown
  • Gallery
  • Flip box
  • Author box
  • Breadcrumbs
  • Sitemap
  • Upsells
  • Product stock
  • Menu cart

And much more…

Divi

Divi also provides you with a plethora of options to choose from on the widget front. You can also install Divi Widget Builder to build your own widgets or combine existing widgets to create intricate widgets.

Given below are a few widgets which are available to choose from in Divi:

Divi Widgets

  • Twitter timeline
  • Page visits
  • Search engine terms
  • Google place reviews
  • Facebook events page
  • Woo sidebars
  • MapPress
  • Google analytics
  • Meta slider
  • Juicer
  • Post comments
  • Site logo

And much more…

Theme builder

Theme builder allows you to edit every part of your website without the need for coding. This means you won’t have to settle for WordPress default themes and can create your own headers, footers, and blogs.

There is not much to separate from Elementor and Divi when it comes to theme building. Both plugins are quite powerful and offer plenty of customization. Theme builder can be used to:

  • Modify header & footer to personalize your website according to the brand needs.
  • Customize the layout of blog posts on your website by designing new templates.
  • Create a 404-page template to provide your viewers with a more user-friendly experience.
  • Create a unique template for archive posts.
  • Design your own personalized search pages to set your brand apart.

Popup builder

As the name suggests, the popup builder lets you build popup messages, notification boxes, etc. It is a pretty useful feature for driving more traffic to your website.

Elementor comes with a built-in popup builder that will allow you to popup options to the viewers like:

  • Email notification popups
  • Registration popups
  • Promotion or offers popups

Divi doesn’t come with a popup builder. But there are plenty of external plugins available for you to choose from that will easily let you build popups.

External Plugin support

Third-party extensions can customize and improve the page builders further to suit your style of branding.

Divi

Divi is feature-filled and hence, does not have a large market that churns out extensions to further enhance Divi. Most of the applications you will need are built-in & there are still a decent number of extensions available. Listed below are a few third-party plugins that are made available for Divi:

  • Migrate Divi theme settings
  • Divi and extra layout injector
  • Extra page builder
  • Bloom Redirect
  • Divi dashboard welcome
  • Page builder everywhere
  • Custom fullwidth header extended module

Elementor

Elementor is free, and this would automatically attract a large market of third-party plugin developers. There are plenty of developers producing various plugin extensions to cover every need you could think of. This makes Elementor a bit more versatile than Divi. Listed are a few external plugins that are made available for Elementor:

  • NavMenu addon for Elementor
  • Hotel booking & Elementor integration
  • Anywhere Elementor
  • Elementor addon elements
  • StylePress for elementor
  • Powerpack
  • Envato elements

Verdict: Even though both Elementor and Divi are packed with features, Divi just about clinches it by having more built-in features. This would allow you to carry out designing web pages without having to search for third-party plugins.

Divi vs Elementor: Versatility

Even though both Elementor and Divi are very capable theme builders, Elementor does not have its theme. Divi includes a plugin as well as a theme to deliver much better synchronization to the user.

However, there are plenty of external plugins available to take care of this situation for Elementor.

Divi vs Elementor: SEO friendliness

Search engine optimization or SEO determines the visibility of your website to viewers. Experts say that low page speed and the use of shortcodes in WordPress plugins can negatively impact SEO. Shortcodes are simplified codes that allow non-designers to unlock the functionalities of a web builder.

Elementor is the most SEO friendly page builder in WordPress. Its strict code standards and fast page loading make it more useful in that regard. External plugins like the Yoast SEO plugin can be used to further enhance SEO.

Divi is also an SEO friendly page builder that has one of the fastest load times. However, Divi does contain a fair amount of shortcodes and could negatively impact SEO. But it has lots of built-in features like schema markup, adding meta descriptions, etc. This allows Divi to be free from external plugins like Yoast SEO to make the web structure more SEO friendly.

These shortcodes can also create an additional problem. If you ever want to uninstall Divi, there is a good that these shortcodes won’t be removed. This is troubling on the SEO front as an unclean removal could cause complications and slow down the webpage considerably.

Verdict: This is a close round that Elementor wins for being more SEO friendly owing to the lack of shortcodes.

Divi vs Elementor: Mobile Page Building

About 4 billion people around the world use smartphones and they vastly outnumber PC internet users. So it becomes critical that the website you are building is mobile-friendly to tap into this massive potential viewer base.

Elementor is largely a mobile-friendly page builder. It provides a lot of customizable features for mobile viewing without the need for any external plugin.

Divi can be used with a third-party plugin named Divi Mobile that will allow you to create mobile-friendly websites. It is packed full of features like hamburger icons, header control, sub-menus, etc.

Although Elementor doesn’t require a third-party plugin, Divi provides much more customizable and appealing options to entice mobile viewers.

Verdict: This is a draw as both page builders are equally adept at designing mobile-friendly web pages.

Divi vs Elementor: Performance & Speed

All the features available in the world will be for nothing if your web page takes sweet time to load. Having fast-loading web pages are critical to the success of any website.

Apart from being more SEO friendly, faster loading websites would also make your website visitors happy. Also, browsers are inclined to spend more time at the website that has faster page loads compared to a competitor.

From several speed tests that were conducted by various external agencies, it was seen that Elementor was slightly faster. This should come as no surprise since Divi web pages are loaded with features.

This would increase the page size and will take slightly longer to load. However, Divi is no slouch and gave excellent performance overall in all the tests that were conducted.

Verdict: Elementor just about edges over Divi in this contest by being more lightweight and quick

Divi vs Elementor: Pricing Battle

Elementor is free to download and use with no annual fees as well. This makes it a godsend for those who want to design a web page on a budget. However, if you need features like theme builder and pop-up builder, you’ll have to opt for Elementor Pro. Elementary pro comes with three purchasing plans:

Elementer Pricing vs Divi theme pricing

  • $49 per year plan – The personal package is the most affordable plan and provides all benefits of Elementor Pro for one website
  • $99 per year plan – The plus plan allows you to use designing three websites using Elementor Pro.
  • $199 per year plan – This expert package allows you to design up to a thousand websites using Elementor Pro, which is essentially unlimited.

Divi does not offer a free version. However, they do have a 30-day money-back policy in case you feel like Divi is not for you. Divi comes with two purchasing plans:

Divi Pricing

  • $89 a year plan – This allows you to avail of the services of Divi for an unlimited number of websites.
  • $ 249-lifetime access plan – This is a tempting offer that will let you build an unlimited number of websites for life. This is the option to choose if you are planning to make a career out of designing websites.

Verdict: This depends entirely upon the user. Elementor is the winner here if you are a complete beginner. Whereas, Divi takes the cake with their one-time payment if you are looking to be a web designing pro

Divi vs Elementor: Customer Support

Elementor has an extensive and detailed support page with hundreds of articles to help you get started and master Elementor. They also have a YouTube channel with hours of video to enhance your ease of understanding.

Elementer Customer Support

Elementor has a community forum to answer all your questions that the articles and videos fail to address. Elementor Pro users can enjoy 24/7 support.

Divi also contains an extensive range of documentation to help you get familiar with various features Divi has to offer. They have a community forum and a Facebook group to answer any additional queries you may have. They also provide an option for you to chat with their technical support 24/7.

Divi Support

Verdict: Elementor support has been accused to be slow-responsive by users. Divi users meanwhile have not had a problem in that regard. So Divi turns out to be the winner in the battle of customer support.

If you are an absolute beginner looking for a page builder, then Elementor is ideal for you. But if you are seasoned and would like to have a lot of options, then go for Divi. In the end, there is no wrong option here.

These two are the very best page builders for WordPress Sites.

If you are an absolute beginner looking for a page builder, then Elementor is ideal for you. But if you are seasoned and would like to have a lot of options, then go for Divi. In the end, there is no wrong option here.

  1. Elementor is the fastest and easiest way to create, manage, and update your website. It’s perfect for bloggers, freelancers, small businesses, and anyone who wants a beautiful website that’s easy to update.

I have started using Divi recently, let’s see where it takes me. I like its customization options personally

  2. A one-page website builder that is perfect for anyone who has never designed a website before. You can easily switch between layouts, add and customize modules, and create unlimited layouts.
Its biggest selling point is that it’s easy to use and is designed to be responsive with mobile-friendly features.

  3. Divi was made for the individuals who needed to construct staggering sites without the requirement for coding. Divi has that the drag and drop alternative that website specialists simply love. Recently, it has moved more towards the dazzling perspective by giving a practically boundless number of highlights and layouts

It’s perfect for beginners and more advanced users alike. I recommend this Theme because of its many features to help you build your site.

  4. The best thing about the Divi is the Extra Theme, when you join Elegant Themes, you get the Divi theme, Divi Builder, 87+ other themes including Extra, Bloom email opt-in plugin, and Monarch social sharing plugin.

Extra is a beautiful and powerful WordPress magazine theme. It’s the superb theme for online magazines, news sites, blogs, and other web publications.

  5. Divi is a WordPress theme that is great for startups because it is so customizable.

I liked its drag and drop interface that enables us to create any layout that we want, such as a typical blog layout or a more traditional layout. It also has a powerful backend that saves time with a lot of the work that we do otherwise

  6. The one thing I hated about Divi was they promised with live support but the same didn’t happen to me. There have been some glitches at times and no one seems to know what’s going on.

It’s frustrating when someone can’t help you but they promise you lifetime support.

  7. If you want to create a custom WordPress website without needing to be a code genius, the Divi theme is the only option I’d suggest!
Divi theme lets you build your WordPress website with simple drag and drag and real-time previews. That ease of use, plus a huge third-party support and plenty of unique features, is what makes it the best out there.

  8. “I love Divi. It’s robust and feature-packed, and to me feels like the ‘gold standard’ of WordPress sites.”
“Divi is hugely popular for its UI that creates a smoother experience than any other page builder I’ve used, but that doesn’t mean it can’t do anything else.”

  9. This is the best-of-the-best. I’ve tried out numerous themes, none of which were nearly as user-friendly or visually appealing as Divi is. It’s hard to come up with something worth complaining about when it comes to this theme since time and effort was clearly put into developing it.

  10. I have been struggling for a while to set up my blog the way I want. But with Divi now I can do it so much easily because it’s an innovative theme that gives me many features. What is more, now I can even build my own page easy as pie using this page builder suite. It looks marvelous since everything is organized neatly in sections by category which are user-friendly and easy to use. Check them out if you find yourself wanting your site done but haven’t quite found what you’re looking for yet.

  11. There are so many great things to say about Divi, but I’ll start with this – once you’ve installed Divi on your server, the guide helps walk you through easily configuring all of its features. This includes sidebars and headers that can change depending on browser size. If I had more time, I would have taken a screenshot showing one of their builder layouts in action – it’s hard to describe how intuitively designed they are.

  12. Divi is one of the most popular WordPress themes as well as a user-friendly drag and drop page builder from Elegant Themes. Building an incredible site has never been easier with Divi because now it’s all about your creativity, not your coding skills! Stay simple with our visual editor interface or dive deep into our exhaustive list of content elements to craft complicated layouts without breaking a sweat.

  13. Elementor user, this is for you. If you’ve played around with different website building software then the chances are that you could get started straight away with Elementor. Literally just hit play and it will take care of your content automatically while you complete the other tasks on your to-do list.

  14. This product is amazing. It’s been a revelation for me, with Elementor, I can edit my website on the fly and integrate with other apps to save time and energy. I used to spend hours overwhelmed by all of the different design software, but now it takes just minutes.

  15. Elementor is great for building and editing websites. It has all the features you need, combined with innovative and modern design. And it’s so easy to use! Elementor offers a whole range of reasons why you should choose their product:

    – You can customize everything from fonts to background colors; – The curators do all the styling work, leaving you free only to swap images; – Elementor loads very fast without any plugins or scraping techniques.

You’ll get an elegant website that stands out like no other! If that was not enough for your convincement, this powerful software will also speed up your site by up to 3x which means more time for promoting business online | especially in looking after your users looking after your clients

  16. I can’t say enough about Elementor’s ease of use and modern interface. I am not a designer, but I would like to feel self-confident when tinkering around with my own site. With the easy drag and drop system, it takes no time at all to see what changes your design makes even before you commit to them! This is great because there’s nothing more frustrating than getting 3 hours into making a huge slew of edits only to realize that possibly 5 minutes ago you actually liked something else better. At least now though. Elementor has got me covered so any major mistakes are detectable right away which means it saves both mine AND their time.

  17. After using Elementor for a few hours, I felt like I’d been trying to edit WordPress for years and haven’t had any luck. With it’s intuitive and easy-to-use interface, you’ll be able to quickly create beautiful pages in minutes.

  18. I’m a blogger who had no IT skills whatsoever. I searched for ways to edit my site for ages without any success until I found Elementor. It gives me the freedom to do what I want with my pages, which is just unbelievable.

  19. Divi is the work of eternally perfecting. It’s always in progress, never complete. You can tweak one little thing or do a major overhaul to change every tiny element across your site. Divi is for anyone that wants to completely control their design and content- down to the smallest design detail.

  20. Divi is the best theme available for WordPress with loads of features. Ever since I started using it, I feel like it’s my new home on the web.

  21. Divi is a multipurpose WordPress theme that’s been called the “unicorn” of WordPress themes. So no matter what your needs are, Divi will have you covered from blog to company website and everything in between! And even better? It’s an Elegant Themes product—so all of their usual features are included too: lifetime access, 1-year support & updates, and lightning fast installations. Divi doesn’t stop at beautiful templates though. Check out their homepage builder for top-of-the-line page construction and design tools like dragging and dropping modules to make (almost) every page in one place instead of coding it by hand.

  22. Elementor combines the best of both worlds. You can use it as a simple editor, or download their first-party extension for WordPress and edit your website like any other content management system. If you know how to work around Photoshop, you will master Elementor in moments.

  23. I couldn’t be more happy with my investment. I’m a graphic designer, and needed something that was going to combine the power of WordPress with a really beautiful design. Divi has been perfect for me, huge thanks to Elegant Theme’s team for the great design and modules they have offered.

  24. “Elementor is the only product that worth your time and money. you won’t regret spending even a dollar on this software.”

  25. Divi is one of the best tools for building and designing a great website i like this theme alot. It’s incredibly easy to create beautiful pages, whether you’re looking for a blog or an online store.

  26. Elementor is an awesome software company that allows WordPress users to get creative with their webpages. It’s perfect for beginners, but can also be used by professionals who are looking for a faster way to update their site through the backend admin panel. Our team loves it because you don’t have to worry about HTML-induced headaches…plus, Elementor is the only product on this list designed exclusively for WordPress users.

  27. The Divi WordPress theme is hands-down one of the best themes out there, but it’s even better when paired with the builder. When you combine these two powerful components together, what you’ve got is a website-building power duo for unparalleled web design. If I could go back in time and give myself advice to use Divi right from the start, I would do just that.

  28. Elementor is the disruptive product that is here to change WordPress for good. It lets you build websites with minimal effort, meaning your site will always look consistent and beautiful. But it doesn’t stop there! Elementor also offers seamless animation features, speeding up how fast your website loads (no pop-ups or waiting).

  29. Divi is one of the absolute best WordPress theme that you can find. It’s been growing in popularity due to being a great functioning website builder as well as giving you all the premium benefits of a high-quality product. With this, there are tons of premium features and multiple templates designed to fit your needs. Use Divi really fast if you want an easy way to design an incredible web page – I swear by it.

  30. This new web-based editor makes life so much easier. Working with WordPress has never been more fulfilling, especially with Elementor at my side. While other page builders have only given people limited choices when editing their pages, this one allows users to completely customize each site they create from scratch or add onto what they already have on their sites.

  31. You can create with your fingers if you are using Elementor. There are no more complicated fields, options, or settings. The interface is clean and easy to learn. You’ll be able to edit it with photoshop-like precision in seconds with the drag-and-drop feature that lets you select an object on a grid of objects. This means there is less scrolling, pulling panels open for something else, remember what previous panel did when they were closed again…you get the picture. It also has advanced layout features so when things go awry—which they often do when working digitally—Elementor will have an idea of how to reconstruct it for you automatically.

  32. Divi is the premium option of the two; it comes prebuilt with more features and has a cleaner look. But Elementor has something to offer, like simply pressing CMD+B (to build) after designing your layout first in order to see what it will look like live on your page.

  33. For client website, I design using Elementor because the Custom CSS is more elegant than Divi’s…

But to design own website, I use lightweight page builder like Zion Builder or Beaver Builder. Fast website important for SEO…

If client want SEO optimization, I will migrate their website to Zion Builder or Beaver Builder.

  34. This product review is about Divi and Elementor and comparing the two of them. I used to use Elementor, but after checking out Divi’s features, I’ll never go back to using Elementor again. Divi offers so many benefits that could be useful to you such as UI customizations, split testing among other things. Plus if your plan includes a future upgrade then you get 1 year free access which is sweet! So far this has been amazing for me and it’ll be nice if others found these pluses too.

  35. For those of us who don’t speak code, Divi is a site that allows you to build the website your imaginations with efficiency. With easy to use formatting tools and drag-and-drop modules for everything else, whatever you create will be ready in no time.

  36. Divi Vs Elementor is one of the most highly debated topics within WordPress community. I myself have used both, and can’t figure out which theme to go with for my blog. Divi was so close to becoming my choice before I discovered how awesome this little plugin was. Here are few points that made me change my mind about it:
    1) Elements holds together much better than Divi themes do
    2) The design process takes minutes rather than hours because there’s no need to hunt for variations of settings in configurations
    3) Elegant representation of content without sacrificing SEO or UX

  37. I am blown away by this website builder. The Divi App installs in about 10 seconds, and it’s super easy to use! You can also import your old blog posts into one of the many layouts that you like. I’m seriously loving all the built-in social buttons too; they make sharing content on social media really easy.

  38. Elementor is an editing plugin that makes creating pages on your site very simple compared to Divi which has a ton of confusing options available when adding modules. Additionally, because Elementor is simply a plugin rather than its own complex theme like what’s found in Divi, there are fewer elements included out-of-the-box potentially limiting your layout choices unless you’re willing to sacrifice precious time trying to figure out how each element works without any tutorials.

  39. The Divi Builder is powerful, elegant and easy-to use. You can hand code or control it with a live preview editor that adjusts your design to any device.

  40. “I switched over from a premium theme to an Elementor plugin, and I regret it.”
“Divi is the easiest web builder tool I have ever used. I recommend going this route if you’re only considering one of these two products. It’s totally worth it. Trust me!”

  41. I started this page with the Divi Page Builder and haven’t looked back. I love how great it is to use, which makes things so much less complicated for me compared to other builders. It was easy to go through all of my content modules without any tech issues or anything like that either – nice work Elegant themes. Plus, you know you’re in good hands when companies are passionate about what they do.

  42. I love this so much because it makes everything easier. I also get more traffic on my site, which is really the end goal in the end after all.

  43. No cons. Buy now!

Divi is amazing, easy to use and full of features. I can’t think of ANY drawbacks since Divi comes in both plugin AND theme versions with limitless potential using the visual shortcodes builder – It’s like Bootstrap for WordPress geeks… but better!
Elementor may be full of great features at first blush, however the tradeoff is that these featuers are built into an already complicated system that may or may not play nice with plugins you need for your site (Yoast SEO plugins especially).

  44. Divi Theme doesn’t affect SEO, might affect your load time though with the extra requests. Any difference probably wouldn’t be that noticeable though. Speed is really important, for SEO, but also for the visitors. At the end it is all coding, so every site can be really fast.
    Must try!

  45. Elementor makes WordPress easy. Like really, really easy. I had fun using it but the layouts are still professional.

  46. I love creating custom pages with this neat app. I can do all sorts of cool things like add in animation and motion design to my site …and the best part is that Elementor has powerful SEO features so my beautiful content will be easy to find online.

  47. Elementor’s page builder helps you produce high-quality, search engine friendly web pages. I’ve used it for years and I recommend it to everyone.

  48. I strongly vote for Divi. I used Divi, Elementor, Beaver, Oxygen and Profit Builder in the last 5 years. I have to say, all builders have their advantages and disadvantages.

The reason why I would vote for Divi is that…

    1. It’s a balance between design, ease of use, pricing and new updates
    2. Great team behind the builder (I mean the development team, am not sure about support, as I never contact support)
    3. New template every single month, so you no need to spend extra $$$ on 3rd party theme, unless your client has special requirements
